Terms

Last updated 27 October 2026. Plain words, because the arrangement is simple: free software, used at your own discretion.

What browserdj is

browserdj is free, open-source software for mixing music in a web browser, published under the MIT licence. You can use it, copy it, change it and host it yourself under that licence, which is in the repository.

Your music

You play your own files. You are responsible for having the right to use them, and for anything you record and share. browserdj does not host, copy or distribute music.

Profiles

A DJ profile is optional and free. What you put on it is yours and your responsibility: only link mixes you have the right to share, and keep it lawful and decent. Do not impersonate another DJ or claim a name to sell it on. We may remove content or profiles that break these terms, and you can delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

Buying and selling gear

browserdj can show controllers that DJs have for sale and link to their adverts on other sites. Any sale is between the buyer and the seller, on that site and under its rules; browserdj does not take part in the sale, handle payment or guarantee items. A "Works with browserdj" test result is the seller's own test on the day they ran it.

No warranty

It is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a browser application and depends on your browser, your hardware and your operating system; a browser update, an audio device or a controller may behave differently from one day to the next. Back up your cue points and mappings with the Backup button. We are not liable for any loss arising from its use, to the extent the law allows.

Third parties

If you switch on the YouTube option, YouTube's own terms apply to its player. Product names such as Traktor, Kontrol, Pioneer DJ and others are trademarks of their owners; browserdj is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by any hardware manufacturer, and "works with" means exactly that.

Fair use of the site

Please do not use the site or its hosting to distribute music you do not have the rights to, to attack the service, or to misrepresent it as something else. The analytics, if you allow them, are described on the privacy page.
