Controllers

The hardware browserdj supports, a test that confirms a controller works before you buy or sell it, and used units from other DJs. Anything class-compliant that is not yet listed maps through the guided set-up.

Compatible controllers

The list grows through presets contributed by the people who use them. "In beta" means the support is in place and still being confirmed against owners' units.

WorksTested and supported.
In betaSupported directly by browserdj, being confirmed on owners' units. Run the test and tell us how it went.
Maps with set-upA standard MIDI controller: the guided set-up maps it once and remembers it. A ready-made preset is on the way.
PlannedNeeds a direct driver like the X1's, which is being written.

Buy used opens a search for that model on eBay, Gumtree or Reverb; the marketplace lists units browserdj DJs are selling. browserdj takes no part in any sale.

Test my controller

Connect the controller, choose how it connects, then move every button, knob, fader and wheel once. Each control that responds is logged. The test runs in Chrome or Edge on desktop, installs nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

Selling a controller?

  1. Run the test before listing it. It takes about a minute.
  2. Copy the result with Copy for a listing.
  3. Add it to your advert on eBay, Gumtree, Reverb or Facebook Marketplace, so buyers can see the unit has been confirmed working without drivers.

Listing it under Gear on your browserdj profile also places it in the marketplace, marked Works with browserdj.

First-generation Traktor hardware

The Kontrol X1 MK1 and Z1 never spoke MIDI; they relied on a Native Instruments driver that no longer installs on current systems. browserdj addresses them directly over USB, so a used unit is fully functional again: buttons, encoders, faders, LEDs and VU meters, with no Native Instruments software.
